There are places the light forgets.
Corners where stone stays cold, where rain lingers in the cracks, and the world seems to have decided nothing beautiful belongs there. Yet something always reaches through.
A root finds purchase. A vine catches hold. A leaf unfolds where no one thought to look.
Growth has never required permission.
It does not wait for better weather, softer ground, or someone to declare the conditions favorable. It simply works with what remains—an inch of soil, a scar in the concrete, a sliver of light slipping beneath the door.
Perhaps we have misunderstood darkness.
We treat it as an ending when sometimes it is merely the place where our eyes have not adjusted yet. Beneath it, things are still moving. Still becoming. Still pushing themselves toward whatever warmth they can find.
The darkness may slow the growing.
It may twist the branches and leave scars along the way.
But it does not get the final word.
The dark does not stop the growing.
Sometimes, it teaches us how badly we want the light.
