Narrative Forge: One Story at a Time

Narrative Forge was built as a home for the longer stories—the serials, continuing narratives, strange towns, questionable people, and fictional worlds that need more room than a single post can give them.

The first time around, I made the mistake of trying to post a chapter from every active storyline every week.

That was ambitious.

It was also nuts.

So, we’re going to be smarter this time.

There will be one fiction drop each week. One week we may return to an old friend. The next may take us somewhere entirely different. Sometimes a story catches fire and demands another chapter before we’re ready to leave it.

We’ll follow the story.

Memoirs of Madness isn’t giving up fiction. Far from it. Stories in Monochrome, Quiet Fire, challenge-driven stories, That Shit… Be at a Slant, and the other short-form madness still have a home there.

The distinction is fairly simple.

MoM is where you come for the complete experience of a single piece.

Narrative Forge is where you come when the story isn’t finished with you yet.

The archives are already here, so wander around. Pick a story. Start at the beginning—or stumble into the middle and figure out where the bodies are buried.

Narrative Forge is moving again.

Not faster.

Smarter.

One story at a time.

That’s enough.

  1. Your ability with words and storytelling speak for themselves. No matter the genre, you manage to convey exactly the right feeling at the right moment. It’s a delight to read everything you write because it becomes and is personal in a very profound way that speaks volumes for the reader and therefore the writer. Thank you for sharing all the versions of you there are.
