What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
PROSE – FICTION/MINI RANT/CHALLENGE
I’m there’s a story like this in memories of most of the men on the planet. One might think I spent an obscene amount of money on a date with the opposite sex, however, this is a story of a different type. This is a tale about half a bologna sandwich, lays potato chips, and bottle of RC Cola changed my life.
I know, I know somebody is going on and on about how something changed their life. It’s becoming a bit cliché really. Yet, every now and again we run across something, someone, or event that fits the bill.
The girl I shared my sandwich with, ended up showing everything I needed to know about being a man. I was only sixteen at the time. Before my 18th birthday, flocked out of school, only to be reinstated an graduate the next year. I went to jail graduation night.
My brother bailed me out and drove me straight to Army Recruiting Station. He whooped my ass until I agreed to go into the military. He was being kind to me, most of his punches landed in the mid section. Well, he was kind until I kneed him in the family jewels. After that, it didn’t where the punches landed they just came.
Then last time I saw her, she kissed me slow, hard in a serious manner. There type of kisses that says so much, but means nothing at all. She held my cheeks in her hands and held my gaze, then whispered,
“When you write about me, could you give me a juicy booty?”
I stood there watching her walk towards the car. She made her request as if was standard thing. Of course, in the story she was going to be attractive. Of course, she was going to be described as an …well. It was more like an order than a request.
“Oh Percy, can you do something about the boobs as well?”
She blew me a kiss and drove off.
I stood there thinking about what she had to say. I had nothing remotely close to a beginning. I began to chuckle and Sue looks at me puzzled.
“George, when did you become Percy?” Sue asked
Before I could answer, Sue pressed her lips against mine in a way that let me know she meant it.
The price of half bologna sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink costs whatever. I have a degree in life, this is absolutely priceless. And yes, it was worth every minute, every penny, and every promise.
