BOOK REVIEW – THE DELICATE STORM BY GILES BLUNT
I enjoy reading detective novels because I see another author’s interpretation of the time-honored profession. Countless authors have explored the Homicide Detective. Blunt’s John Cardinal is a complicated individual. However, Cardinal’s nature adds tension to the plot. Although his methodic slow grind gnaws at your patience, it somehow works out. I liked the story and the characters.
I am looking forward to a bit of character development in later books.
This book was interesting because the ending wasn’t an apparent triumph. In detective novels, we usually have some closure at the end of the story, but there wasn’t one in this one. So now I am forced to read the next installment to find out what is happening with the villain.
