PROSE – RANDOM THOUGHTS / REFLECTION
I read this question yesterday and made notes about what I wanted to say. I feel good about several concepts and ideas. However, there was something about the whole affair I couldn’t quite seem to nail down.
As I’m thinking about this question, I find myself a little unsettled. A little counterproductive, huh? This morning over coffee, I read people’s responses to the question; some I laughed at, others I found interesting, and then I ran into one talking about how their spiritual journey brings them peace.
The eukera moment, the light bulb thing, or whatever you want to call it, happens when you get something. Whatever it is or called, I had it. I needed to move quickly because I’ve got to the age where the only thing that sticks with me is indigestion.
In that moment, I realized the only thing that brings me peace is balance—more precisely, the balance of mind, body, and spirit. I’ve studied enough to concede that achieving this status takes a lifetime of commitment, dedication, and balls (non-gender specific).
I’d love to say each day I get closer to this balance, but who am I kidding? There are days when the best I can do is show up.
If you discover what actually brings you peace … let me know I bet its something simple that doesn’t cost a thang!
