Playing around with filters
Over the weekend, I pulled out my trusty Nikon and snapped a few shots. I’ve been trying to get a handle on digital photography and things are going slow, but I make enough progress in the editing, to keep interested. So, here are my latest efforts from yesterday’s photo session.
Let’s take a look, shall we?

I shoot only in RAW with my Nikon. My main lens is 70-210 mm. I have others, but I typically use the 70 – 210 mm. Due to my inexperience, I tend to do a great deal of work in post, instead of getting better shots in camera.

I’ve been trying to learn how to isolate a subject to maintain its color while making the background black and white. As you can see, there is a green outline around the subject. I’m not sure if that can be fixed using PS Express. Perhaps, if I try different method I may get the results I want.

This photo of my grandson was washed out. Normally, this photo would be trashed. I always seem to forget when using raw, the data is present. To make this one visible, I applied HDR filters.

I definitely have a considerable amount more to learn, but its cool utilizing technology for something other than social media. I actually think this is the first time I’ve seen him without his phone. In fact, he left in the truck.
I love telling stories, photography is just another way for me to tell a story. Each snap of the shutter, feels like writing another scene in a story yet to be written. I get lost in the magic of it. Its like stepping outside of time or a time bubble.
Its time to pick up my pen and finish a few of the writing projects I have started. Perhaps, one the images in my collection will inspire a scene or evoking a recollection to a time when different; not better or worse. Simply, different. Have a great rest of your day and thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful pictures! Love the edited one of your grandson with the blur.

I enjoy leaning new things. I think it keeps our brain young, even though the body ages.
