RANT – IT’S AMAZON’S FAULT
For years, I’ve added my ebooks to my Kindle with limited difficulty. So today, when I received this message below, I was more than a little upset. Now, I know Amazon knows I have thousands of books in various ebook formats I still need to read. You see, I have been rocking a kindle fire since generation 1 with an iPad backup since 2nd gen.
We are writing to let you know that Send to Kindle will soon remove the ability to send MOBI (.mobi, .azw) documents to your Kindle library. Any MOBI documents already in your library will not be affected by this change. MOBI is an older file format and won’t support the newest Kindle features for documents. Any MOBI documents already in your library that you want to read with our most up-to-date features for documents will need to be re-sent in a compatible format, such as EPUB (.epub). You can send EPUB documents using Send to Kindle for Web, the Kindle app for iOS and Android devices, the Send to Kindle desktop app for PC and Mac, or your Send to Kindle email address. If you have any questions, please visit our help page or contact our Customer Service team. By downloading or using Send to Kindle, you agree to the terms here. Regards, Amazon Kindle SupportThe origin of this rant
I expressed my disgust and Amazon’s complete and utter disregard for my reading flow to my lady. THIS WILL NOT STAND! I declared with gusto. My lady responded to my actions in the following manner.
“Really? This will not stand?” She asked
“That’s right!” I declare standing firm.
“Wow, really? What is it about this thing, the thing where you make a stand?” She asked with an expression that made me feel like 12 year old. Then, she followed it up with her patented, often lamented “you’re being ridiculous” look.
She continued her barrage of questions without giving me an opportunity to reply. As I knew this gonna take a minute, I sat down and started writing this post.
She’s still going …
Needless to say … rant was thwarted!
I mean you were going to take on Amazon? I with her on this one.
